The educational computer robotron A 5105[1] (BIC A 5105 for short) was developed by VEB Robotron-Meßelektronik "Otto Schön" Dresden in the GDR from January 1987 and mass-produced from July 1989. It was intended for training in computer science at general education schools, in vocational training as well as at universities and technical colleges. The development became necessary because the small computers KC 85/2-4 and KC 87 did not meet the requirements for training. Until the cessation of production in April 1990, about 5,000 units of the computer were produced. Of these, about 3,000 devices reached the customers in the education sector at an initial price of about 11,000 M,which fell to 3,000 M by the end of the deliveries. |
